AYSE BIRSEL and BIBI SECK are product designers. In 2002, their collaboration on the design of a concept interior for Renault led to the creation of their studio Birsel + Seck in New York. Bibi Seck was lead designer at Renault for 12 years, bringing Scénic I and II, Twingo II and Trafic to market. Ayse is the designer of the zoë Washlet, for the Japanese manufacturer TOTO, unofficially coined the world’s most comfortable toilet seat. She is also the designer of the Resolve office system for Herman Miller, which is in MoMA’s permanent collection.
ACME Studios is an international product design company founded in Los Angeles 1985. The success factor is the intensive cooperation with globally recognized architects, designers, artists, foundations, estates and institutions. In 1997, ACME released their first collection of fine writing tools.
The company's founders, Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, launched ACME in 1985 with a collection of jewelry designed by Peter Shire, a member of the world-renowned Memphis Group. This graduated to working with all fourteen Memphis Designers such as Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
